Operatic baritone William Bokhout has been the resident baritone with Opera Grand Rapids for 19 seasons, performing as many as 30 different roles, most recently as Slim in Carlisle Floyd’s of Mice and Men. Described as a lyric baritone with an incredible range, Mr. Bokhout is comfortable in many genres of music, appearing with the Grand Rapids Symphony Orchestra, The Pine Mountain Music Festival, the West Shore Symphony, the Calvin College Oratorio Society, as well as many musical Theatre and sacred concerts throughout the Midwest.

In April, 2004 Mr. Bokhout made his New York City, Carnegie Hall debut in a varied concert with the New York Chamber Orchestra highlighted by the Duruflé Requiem.

In 2003, Mr. Bokhout founded The 2nd Act opera company, a professional touring group dedicated to promoting Opera as an art form to young people, performing in many of the schools in his area.

He is an instructor of voice at Grand Rapids Community College, and Grand Valley State University.
